It’s been pretty clear that in the last month or so that the services (e.g., PAIR, PatFT/AppFT, TESS, TDR) provided on the US Patent and Trademark Office’s website (uspto.gov) are frequently overloaded/off-line.
Talking with a colleague about this same issue this morning, he noted that “uspto.gov appears to be configured to not accept incoming ping requests.” Closed ping port? Odd.
Has anyone heard rumors why? DoS attacks? Equipment failure? Other?
