Manzana consigue IPApple gets IP

El RIAA no lo consigue. El MPAA no lo consigue. Pero la Manzana hace. ¿Qué es esto? IP. The RIAA doesn’t get it. The MPAA doesn’t get it. But Apple does. What is it? IP.

Hace varios años la Manzana comenzó a vender la música en línea por 99 centavos por pista vía su Tienda de Música iTunes (iTMS). Los expertos entonces los llamaron idiotas. ¿Quién pagaría la música que ellos podrían descargar (ilegalmente) gratis? Sobre medio MIL MILLONES de telecargas más tarde, parece que la Manzana era correcta. La gente, considerando la oportunidad de hacer la cosa (legal) correcta, va decidió hacer así. A number of years ago Apple started selling music online for 99 cents a track via its iTunes Music Store (iTMS). Pundits at the time called them idiots. Who would pay for music they could (illegally) download for free? Over a half a BILLION downloads later, looks like Apple was right. People, given the opportunity to do the right (legal) thing, will chose to do so.

Ellos soltaron nuevo iPod…the iPod Vídeo y una nueva versión de iTunes/iTMS que permite que usted pague 1,99$ para descargar vídeos de música y programas de televisión. ¿Las Amas de casa Desesperadas de la semana pasada perdida? Sólo descárguelo legalmente vía iTunes y juéguelo en su ordenador o en su Vídeo iPod. ¡Genio escarpado! Guess what idiotic thing Apple did today? They released an new iPod…the iPod Video and a new version of iTunes/iTMS which allows you to pay $1.99 to download music videos and television shows. Missed last week’s Desperate Housewives? Just download it legally via iTunes and play it on your computer or on your iPod Video. Sheer genius!

Los dueños de copyright tienen que realizar que el gato es fuera del bag…it es tiempo de mirar modos de sacar ganancia del deseo de la gente de tener el acceso fácil a sus trabajos que en cambio pegan al caballo muerto de demandar a sus propios clientes (potenciales). Copyright owners need to realize that the cat is out of the bag…it is time to look at ways of profiting from people’s desire to have easy access to your works instead beating the dead horse of suing your own (potential) customers.
