Advent Product Development’s Success Rate - 0%?

According to an Exhibit that Advent itself filed in a recent lawsuit, between October 1, 1998 and December 6, 2004, out of 2452 inventors that “signed Phase II representation agreements” with Advent, ZERO made more money than they spent on Advent’s services.

I know that Kurt Leyendecker previously noted that InventHelp’s success rate was 0.23% and Davison’s was 0.03%.

0.23%, 0.03%, 0.00%.

If anyone has copies of other such success rate disclosures (as required by the American Inventors Protection Act), I’d love to see them.

  1. Yup…I worked there (in their Pawleys Island, SC Office). When the company was the former NISI (National Invention Services, Inc. the FTC lawsuit they lost stipulated that they HAD to include this info in every marketing package.
    They made sure that it was as small and unassuming as possible…and buried in the last pages of legal docs in the thick folder.
    You will never make money at Advent Product Development…only the owners will.

  2. Wow. Is that the plan? I was in the Phila office and saw some products in there that they said were theirs…is that false? Is there another invention company I should be talking to? Thanks.

  3. I’m a new inventor working with APD. I’m suppost to meet with a lawyer next week to sign some papers. They say that the product is marketable and patendable. Should I trust them? My gut tells me to be worried.

  4. Before I gave up the whole farm I opted for financing the remaining half of the “fees” and then slowly my gut said “sucker”. I submitted my own provisional patent application for $100 and just got back my postcard from PTO yesterday.I’m sorry for those who gave up the farm but listen it’s better to deal direct in most cases.

  5. I too am about to “sign” with Advent. And yes, like anything else, it’s the “money” before anything significant can begin to take place. How can I find out the real scoop on this Company? It gets old to have to not be able to pay someone to assist me in accomplishing my goals(which would also benefit them as well)and it just might turn out to be a “nightmare”. If you are interested in helping to point me in the “right direction” either through your own actual testimony or, who I can contact for more reliable info. I would appreciate that.

  6. I am a new inventor and I just signed with them this past Friday and will be requesting and canceling my check on Monday!! I contacted http://www.Legal-Zoom and they will assist you with all of these matters for PEANUTS!! Yet, if you have the time you can DO IT YOURSELF! I should start a Picket LINE in front of their office in San Diego ;-)

  8. I just received my “report” from Advent and must say I’m disappointed in their work. They claim the patent search alone is worth $1000. Regardless, the information they have done is very broad and helps very little. Certainly not worth $1200. I would avoid Advent if I were you.
