Acrobat 8 for Lawyers

by Stephen M. Nipper. | Posted in Business & Tech Tips   1 Comment »

This last year I bought a Fujitsu ScanSnap scanner (which comes with Acrobat for free).  Probably the best investment I made last year…can’t imagine practicing law without a desktop scanner/Acrobat.

Looks like the forthcoming version of Adobe Acrobat has a number of features that lawyers will find VERY useful.  The main ones being integral Bates numbering and redaction.

Adobe is putting on a free presentation for lawyers on the new features on Tuesday, October 24, 2006, if any of you are interested:  “Acrobat 8 for Legal Professionals.”

Yes, all of us have been using Acrobat 8 for document review, it is a great tool. And the Bates numbering has significantly decreased our paralegal’s drudge work. The cost savings in attorney/paralegal time definitely makes up for the purchase.
