The article says the USPTO granted him a patent in 2002 (which is strange, because it also says he conceived the idea in 2001).

I did a quick search and couldn’t locate the patent (or a published application), hopefully someone didn’t file his application as a provisional and tell him it was patented.

It seems from the article that this suit is more than a bit “iffy”. The inventor isn’t complaining that InventTech took his money, but that they took his idea and succeded in licensing it to a very large company, who got it into “most sporting goods stores” in a few years. Evidently they don’t have anything more to go on than suspicion – “Ginzkey said he and Fisk hope to learn of a connection between Invent-Tech and pole manufacturer Pure Fishing during the process of the lawsuit.”

I’m no fan of InventTech, or any other Invention Marketer, as can be seen from our web page cited in an early posting on this blog, but I’d be very surprised to see this succeed.

I am an inventor who was recently ripped off by Invent-Tech. I am in the process of filing a lawsuit againt the corporation. I am searching for other victims who are willing to be character witnesses in court or provide letters of recommendation stating your complaint. If you are in a similar situation please provide your name, file number with Invent-Tech, and e-mail information to Cantlookoverfoundation@gmail.com.
