Promote the Progress.com gets a face-lift
May 2, 2006 on 8:24 am | In Weblogs |If you haven’t checked out Matt Buchanan’s site (www.promotetheprogress.com) in a while, you really should. He’s spent a tremendous amount of time redesigning it. Makes me jealous.
Things I really like about the redesign:
- He tries to make his blog (the source for information about patent reform and patent legistlation) look less like a blog and more like a website. Gone are many of the things you traditionally see on a blog: buttons, blogrolls, etc. The end product is very clean and friendly to non-geeks.
- “Browse by” links on the side. Rather than having his blog software generate an alphabetical list of categories…Matt took the time to break them into subcategories. Very useful.
- The rotating image at the top. Everytime you reload the website, new image. Very cool.
Great work Matt!

Steve is being way too shy here…he’s the one who made me add the rotating image feature. Nice to have friends like that.
