eBay, usernames and trademark infringement
March 11, 2005 on 2:41 pm | In Trademarks |Do you have a client annoyed with a seller using your client’s trademark(s) in said reseller’s eBay username? It’s a pretty easy thing to fix. Here’s how you do it.
Go to eBay’s “User IDs†FAQ page. Therein is a reminder to eBay users that “User IDs:…Can’t incorporate, or be confusingly similar to, a third-party’s trademark or brand (for example, CocaColaSeller).â€
Later on that same page is a javascript link for “Report a User ID that may be inappropriate†which brings up a form that looks like this:
