If you can’t beat them…part II

December 6, 2004 on 9:09 pm | In Interesting Patents |

I recently reported on the pending auction for Commerce One’s patent portfolio.  The Associated Press is reporting that a "secretive company called JGR Acquisition Inc." paid $15,500,000 for the patents.

I’m betting that JGR is not "Joe Gibbs Racing."

Maybe it is Jeffrey Green Russell Solicitors ("a medium-sized commercial law firm with strong international connections based in Bond Street, London").

  1. JGR’s assistant treasurer, Glen Squire, filed a ‘good faith’ declaration with the court in support of their bid. The declaration contained little new information, save for Mr. Squire’s name.

They reported an employer tax ID no: 68-0322810.
