Gift recommendations
December 5, 2004 on 9:42 pm | In Uncategorized |Been a while since I’ve done a "things I like…" post. It is Christmastime…maybe I can milk "gift recommendations" for a few short posts.
Recommendation #1: TIVO
We bought our first TiVo about a year and a half ago. We (my wife and I) liked it so much that we bought a second one for our bedroom. It has definately changed how we watch TV. Face it, 95% of what is on TV is crap. The other 5%…you can never seem to find any of it when you are surfing. That’s where TiVo comes in…you can record a chunk of that 5% for watching when it is convenient for you. Plus, you can skip commercials, pause live TV, back up when you missed something…I couldn’t imagine owning a TV without a TiVo. One of the cool features coming "soon" is the ability to export your
recordings to your computer/laptop (think about all the great things
you could watch during your commute…).
They even have a 30 day money back guarantee…if you don’t like it, you can send it back. They have a $100 off rebate (drops the price to $99) right now. Give it a try…you’ll like it.

I second this. Several years ago we were a very early adopter of ReplayTV, Tivo’s biggest competitor. It really does change the way you watch TV. Awesome. My dad has one of the newer ReplayTV units and loves it as well.
