Evolution & Altoids Speakers

July 21, 2004 on 7:31 pm | In Uncategorized |

The more I talk with my readers…the more I hear people express a desire that I blog more (along with my usual posts) about things I find interesting. It seems that people actually like to hear my off topic rants (which amazes my wife) … so, I’ll try to share a little more of my nerdy, geeky self with all of you. I guess my blog continues to evolve….stick around and see what happens. That being said…

I stumbled on an interesting post pointing me to the online site of a magazine called “Readymade.” The magazine is a “bimonthly print magazine for people who like to make stuff,” apparently a magazine for MacGyver wanna-bes (which seems to describe a third of my clients). The most recent issue including an article showing you how to make a set of speakers from an old headphone set, a couple playing cards and a couple Altoids tins. Their archives contain many other articles from older issues. I am going to have to make a trip tomorrow to one of the local mag shops to find it. Stay tuned for an update…

see also my rant on “Cargo Magazine.”

UPDATE: Someone sent me this link to a ZDNet article on MacGyverisms and TechnoMacGyverisms.
