STENT APPEAL STUNTED — U.S. SUPREME COURT DENIES MEDTRONIC CERT PETITION
We reported last year on Johnson & Johnson’s big win against Medtronic, getting a federal appellate court to reinstate a $271 million jury verdict that had been overturned by a Delaware District Court Judge. The patent infringement case — about “stents,” which are mesh devices used in blocked arteries — was a “win, loss, win” for J&J, which now adds another “win” to its tally, because the Supreme Court declined to hear Medtronic’s request for review of the appellate court’s ruling.
